Pro-maker, a positive youth developer entity, is a registered 501(-C)3 non-profit organization. Pro-maker's primary focus is on the processes required to provide and sustain the healthy, stable development of disadvantaged youth and young adults.  Participants will have the opportunity to expand their innate potential through the venues of sports, music and art. Pro-maker is further dedicated to guide the development of at risk, abandoned, abused, troubled youth and young adults, for the long term.  This goal will be attained by building their self-esteem and self-confidence in tandem with the introduction of other primary enhanced skills and clean, healthy fun.

Pro-maker hopes to provide services to all youth at risk, with emphasis on those identified as troubled, abused, in foster care, on probation or living in independent residential centers and single family homes.

Pro-maker strives to increase youth participation in sports, fitness, and recreation  programs by assessing needs and obstacles of existing local facilities. Additionally, Pro-makers plans to directly serve the needs of these youth with the assistance of the Christian Communities, the church and Pro-Maker Sport Complexes.

Through our partnership with these facilities, every participant in our programs will qualify for  mental, physical, and spiritual health assistance to enhance optimal potential for success in life. Our programs offer participants a chance to develop an alliance with their respective facilities as well as the church.   As a result of this plan, youth and athletics meld together into a dynamic combination. Learning and mastering athletic skills builds self-confidence and self-esteem.  Pro-maker also teaches youth that achievement in athletics, like success in life, requires commitment, teamwork, self discipline and hard work.  Youth participation in our programs integrates two major desires, to have fun and to feel successful.

CONSIDER THE FACTS:

Participation in team sports has been in steady decline for decades.

Urban youth are much less likely to participate in sports and fitness programs than suburban youth.  Over 60% of suburban youth participate in sports leagues compared to 20% of urban youth.

Youth who play sport are 57% less likely to drop out of school, 49% are less likely to take drugs, and 37% less likely to become teen parents.

Most recent statistics available, confirm that childhood obesity has more than tripled between 1975-2004 from approximately 5% to 16.7%

We aspire to help all our staff and supporters to produce empowered, healthy, and productive youth to become tomorrow's leaders.

PROHIBITED YOUTH:

Pro-makers will bring sporting and recreation opportunities to troubled youth, partnership with foster care service providers and Juvenile Probation Departments.  Pro-maker's staff, mentors and volunteers will help youth recognize and build positive relationships.  Pro-maker will not only provide athletic and recreational activities, but also a variety of programs including fellowship the church and Christians.

Many of our troubled youth are coming from foster care or probation systems.  Children in residential treatment are suffering from both behavioral and emotional problems, often as the result of abuse and neglect.  All children need to be exposed to every level of sports, but troubled youth need to be given more opportunities to experience teamwork, accountability, discipline, respect, confidence, and possible the most important, leadership.  Sports are an incredible vehicle for self-expression.  Sports can be utilized and developed as coping mechanisms for anger and depression and can provide a valuable communication outlet for many of these children.  Sports can teach valuable skills associated with communicating in non-violent, non self-destructive manners.

Pro-makers will design athletic and recreational programs specific to the community served.  The sports program will incorporate weekly life skill classes, sports-related field trips to other areas professional, college teams and practices.

Pro-makers programs and general assemblies supporting spiritual care can be uplifting and hopeful.  Some of our sports coordinators will be former troubled youth and their testimonies will be inspirational.

Pro-maker seeks necessary funding and subsidies through collaboration with other non-profit organizations' proven outreach programs designed to enrich the lives of the underprivileged.

The time has come for every Christian to know that everyone in the community has a role to  play insuring that all youth have equal opportunities to follow: State and local elected officials, business, arts and cultural organizations, law enforcement agencies, neighbors, parents, relatives, friends, local churches and the youth themselves.

It is not enough for everyone to know his or her role, however.  To insure that every young person develops mentally, physically, intellectually and  spiritually healthy, all of the participants must work together, not just to weave a safety net, but to build a springboard from which youth can thrive.  Most important, the youth themselves need to mein the center of the construction, designing, implementing, and running the programs that lead to their own brighter future.

We at Pro-maker know that when you are working to improve the lives of young people, virtually everyone around you is a potential collaborator, and once improved locally, young people  feel like they can move mountains, and many of them do so.  With opportunities and encouragement, all young people can be mobilized to work side=by side with adults to build thriving communities, a stronger nation and more equitable world of love and peace  for all of God's  children.

We at Pro-maker will integrate sports, music and the arts as a springboard to assist our youth to promote and preserve all of the above and beyond.

Should you be inspired to make a donation to benefit our cause, we would be most grateful for your generosity.
