Pro-Maker's sports ministry programs will train youth to use sports and recreation as a means of teaching and equipping dedicated disciples of Jesus Christ. The program will prepare youth biblically, academically, and incorporate innate personal guidance to insure that they will become capable sports ministry practitioner's in multicultural settings at churches, schools, community organizations, in the mission field, and beyond.
The specific goals of the sports ministry programs are that its youth develop a thorough knowledge of the bible and spiritual truths, be proficient at articulating the biblical philosophy of sports and recreation that will form the basis for life and the sports ministry.
Model a consistent lifestyle both on and off the playing fields. A lifestyle that demonstrates devotion to God, a concern for all people, and commitment to excellence in life and the ministry.
Study classical and contemporary information regarding theoretical models of teaching and learning processes, thus becoming proficient in applying appropriate and effective solutions to real life situations.
Develop practical and creative interpersonal skills that assist in applying biblical models of services. For example, the ability to communicate biblical truths in an articulate and competent manner in a variety of sports ministry settings.
Develop supportive relationships in both inner and outer Christian communities which will assist in communicating biblical truths in a post modern world.
Demonstrate the application of biblical models of service through supervised sports ministry internship experiences.
Become proficient in evaluating contemporary researchers literature in the field of sports ministry and make a contribution to that body of knowledge by designing, conducting, interpreting, and presenting one's own research study.
