Pro-Maker has overcome major misconceptions that have prevented some churches from developing their Recreation Sports Ministry. For example:
Church does not have experienced staff to implement and expand a sports ministry. There are not sufficient finances within the church budget to support a sports ministry. There is a lack of available leadership knowledge to develop and maintain a sports league venue. Church leadership does not have available outreach contacts to provide assistance for developing and sustaining comprehensive, long term sports programs. No church recreation facilities are in place or financially feasible. Not enough church youth members to field teams.
Pro-Maker believes that all churches working in tandem to outreach in their community for Christ can overcome the obstacles outlined herein. The initial step required is to provide some type of minimal indoor/outdoor recreation sports activity for youth that does not require large gymnasiums or sports fields. Most churches should be able to provide interim space for certain sports activities to be scheduled at their outdoor parking areas, and other available church grounds. Indoor activities requiring smaller area space, such as table and net games, could also be regularly scheduled. Although obstacles that may loom as daunting challenges to thwart the churches from attaining their goals, we believe that they are actually golden opportunities for the Christian community to achieve great and mighty gifts through God's blessings.
